Whether they are located in Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré, in Saint-Clément-des-Baleines, in La Couarde, in Sainte-Marie-de-Ré or wherever else in one of the ten towns of the island, about twenty producers are committed to this quality process. They are providers and bring about 20 tons of potatoes per year.
Through this commitment, they deliberately accept to follow the strict rules of the bill of specifications which guarantees both quality and traceability of the PDO Ile de Ré Potatoes.
Thanks to this commitment, we can ensure the continual high quality of our products and constantly defend our values of product, terroir, producers and environment respect.
The producers respect good farming practices and promote a sustainable agriculture by limiting the negative effects on the environment (for instance by using a 3 years rotation to let the soil rest or by limiting the mineral fertilisation).
Thanks to the respect of these methods by all the producers along with a team spirit and a will to defend common values, our Ile de Ré potato managed to obtain the PDO. Thus we can now guarantee an unrivalled quality and typicity.
